Lizzie is a young, Full grown Cairn Terrier Mixture. Although every dog is unique, Cairn Terriers tend to be adventurous, intelligent, loyal, and incredibly playful. Cairns tend to be very people oriented and are often sweet family dogs in homes with respectful kids. Because they were bred to hunt vermin, many Cairn Terriers may not be suitable in homes with other small animals. Because of their drive to chase, Cairns should have a well secured yard and be walked on a leash. Cairns often make great apartment dogs if well exercised. Cairns are very playful and benefit greatly from games and toys. Pure-Bred Cairn Terriers are a great choice for allergy sufferers if the dog is properly groomed (regular brushing and hand stripping twice a year); a mixture may have the same benefits if it inherited the Cairn fur traits.
