Happy-go-lucky Misty, a 4-year-old Labrador/Collie mixture, wants to be everyone's friend! She was surrendered to our shelter when her previous owner's health declined and they could no longer care for her. Misty has a gentle disposition and is very cute, loving and easy-going - every person who introduces themselves to her is greeted with a wagging tail and a big, wet kiss. She absolutely seeks attention and petting and will even grab onto your hand with her paw in order to encourage more affection. Misty also enjoys lots of belly rubs and will roll right over onto the floor if she sees the slightest hint that she might be about to get one. As outgoing as she is, Misty still shows some signs of submissiveness so she will need a calm, patient owner who plans on using lots of positive reinforcement techniques to encourage and guide her when in her new home. Misty will need some additional housetraining when she goes into her new home. She will also need to work on her leash walking as she does pull; we recently fitted Misty with a harness and she is responding well. This little piggy loves treats and is very food-motivated; however, she will enjoy a consistent exercise routine and diet to lose those unwanted pounds.
