Dobby is a senior (12 to 14 year old maybe) chocolate miniature poodle. He is a character. He's outspoken, friendly, loves cuddles, gets along great with other dogs and cats, enjoys walks and just fun to be around. He is talky and will let you know when he's hungry, wants on your lap, sometimes to go outside and sometimes I think he just liked to hear himself sing. He is not quite housebroken but getting there and a belly band will probably be required as he settles into a new abode. Dobby is also hypothyroid, which requires daily medication that is overall inexpensive. He was brought into foster in very bad shape (read almost completely bald and a lot of scabs and his eyes were awful). As it turned out, it was pure neglect because of an untreated hypothyroid condition. With daily meds he has rebounded well and is feeling much much better. He eats well and takes his pills no problem in anything edible, but he loves cheese whiz. His hair may never completely recover but so far it's growing in most everywhere, albeit it's pretty thin in many places. He may also have residual issues from his general condition (itchiness or remaining bald spots, like around his eyes).Dobby is a miniature poodle. When he was bald it was difficult to tell so his foster actually had a DNA test done. As a poodle, he doesn't shed but he will require regular grooming as he has no desire to every have bad skin and coat again. He likes regular brushing. He has had a dental and is missing quite a few teeth but the remaining and very clean now. He is not quite housebroken but a belly band seems to be working well with him. He can stay in a crate while you are gone but he does prefer sleeping with you overnight, specifically under the covers. p.s. he is not a morning dog. He loves laps and all people - even kids. He loves to be scratched and petted and will often growl if you quite petting him. He can be pushy and get playful with his growling and teeth but he is harmless. He is quite the character. He would really like a home that has a lot of time for him, lots of laps, lots of pets, and lots of patience for an older character like him. He needs a home with all that but that won't let him be the boss. Oh, and lots of food.He is fully vetted, on regular thyroid medication, HW negative and neutered.
