Sammy is a beautiful 64 lbs 2.5 year old border collie mix located in Bend, OR and ready for a home! He loves to meet new people and receive attention. We are seeking a dog-savvy family since Sammy gets excited when meeting new dogs and he barks. We have not observed any aggression but introductions to other dogs can be nerve racking if you dont know what youre doing since he is a big boy. He does great with going potty outside and absolutely loves toys! He doesnt like to go in the crate but hell lay down and take a nap when Im home if the door is open. He actually can get out of the crate so I come home to him lounging on the couch. Doesnt chew anything up other than toys which is a miracle! Loves riding in the car with his nose sitting out. Doesnt try to jump out and is fine when dogs or people walk past us while stopped. Sleeps with my son on the huge Costco dog bed. Usually with a toy or a bone.He isnt hyper, hes pretty average with energy. He knows sit, stay, lay, and shake. He is smart! Sammy did have a skin condition when he was found but his hair has come in nicely since. He was exposed to free roaming cats and dogs at the shelter when he was in Houston and he did fine. He needs an alpha leader, especially during intro to other dogs. Hes not a bad Boy, just needs a leader. Hes a great dog and his foster absolutely loves him.
