This is Flop. Flop came to us as a stray and from day 1 he knew how to sit. We thought he had to be someone's dog, but no one ever came looking for him. When he came to the shelter he was great with the females in playgroups, but not so much the males. He has been here for a while now and has became barrier reactive. This means in his kennel he will bark and jump at the cage, but out of the kennel he is a different dog. He is a shepherd mix, which means he is a protective dog naturally. Once he knows you are his friend he is loving and protective of you. We have tested him around children and he has done fine, but he needs a owner who can provide him with a home environment so he can get out of the shelter. Shelter environment for dogs like Flop is hard, they are meant to do a job and sitting in a kennel for hours and hours day in and day out is nothing short of tourture.
