Meet Wonton! He's brand new to Summit Dog Rescue. He just arrived here and is busy unpacking his bags while we learn more about him. He's a Wheaten mix weighing 56 lbs., neutered, vaccinated, and very cuddly and friendly. He was pulled out of a shelter at the last minute and transferred to our care. The shelter did the best they could to find him a great home, but they're simply overwhelmed and overfull with deserving pets. The shelter staff say he's very social with everyone -- and he LOVES everyone at the shelter. See this fluffy boy in action on our Summit Dog Rescue Facebook page. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.Adoption processFirst you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters. We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!Shelter locationAll our dogs are in foster homes.You have to go through the adoption process and be approved before meeting a dog. Its an application, two phone interviews and a home visit.
