Bucky's owners said he will thrive under the care of an active, energetic and loving family. He'll fit right in because he is sociable and active. He was given up because he was not allowed to live where his family moved. He is a high-energy older pup who likes running, tugging, walks, chase, and wrestling. He weighs 27 pounds and likes to lead on a leash except when he prefers to jump. If he runs away while off leash, he'll come back if you call him. He understands the no command. He is still working on house training and will bark or scratch on the door when he needs to go out. He spent his days either freely roaming the house or outside. He does not like kennels. He is playful and jumpy with kids of all ages. He is easygoing and playful with dogs and playful with cats. He enjoys rough housing with all of them. He behaves well with meeting dogs during walks and at the dog park. He got into a bit of trouble for jumping and digging. He loves being petted. Bucky knows he will be fun addition to any family. (tw 2/6/2024)Adoption processPet Adoption FeesCAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering. Call for information on animals not listed here. Dogs A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount. Dogs (over 15 lbs) $105 Puppies (6 months & younger) $135 Small dogs (15 lbs & under) $135 Cats A second cat or kitten, when adopted within 30 days is free Cats (6 months - 5 years) $55 Kittens ( 6 months & younger) $85 Senior Cats (5+ years) $30 Small Mammals Rabbit (can adopt 2 for 1) $50 Guinea Pig (one) $20 Guinea Pigs (two) $30 Ferrets $90 Hamsters/Rats/Gerbils (can adopt 2 for 1) $10 Special DiscountsSeniors for Seniors - Special Senior Citizen (60 yrs +) No charge for an animal 7 yrs or older.Military Families - 50% of adoption fees waived for military personnel and veterans.
