- Mix Dog for Adoption in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, 20197 USNickname: Xander Posted Breed: White German Shepherd (long coat). Male - 1 year - 50 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - VA Hi! My name is Xander and I am a 1-year-old, 50 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I should be crated when left alone. I am nervous with new people and anyone I meet needs to follow my lead and respect my social cues. I have been working with my trainer to understand appropriate interactions with people and have done well with men, women, and older children with proper introductions. I am very affectionate with my trusted people and love to spend time with you! I would do best in a low traffic home with fewer visitors. I love other dogs though I can be rambunctious with my request for interactions so not all other dogs love me. I would love to have a playful, tolerant, confident canine companion to help show me the ropes and who can help you continue teaching me my canine manners. I love to wrestle with my foster siblings! I enjoy toys, especially Kongs, and would love a yard where I can play or explore safely. I cannot go to a home with cats. I have been working on my obedience training and have learned sit, come, place, and off. I have also learned heel and walk well on leash. I ride well in the car and have been going on field trips to places like Lowe’s to practice my training in public! I strive with structure and boundaries. My adopter must be willing to come meet me and my trainer in the Kearneysville WV / Northern Virginia area to make sure we are a good fit!
