Scottie (the Scottish Terrier mix, Doxie Scot?) is a sweet little guy who was found as a skittish stray with an untreated broken leg. Don’t let the pre-mature greys fool you. This small dapper, very portable guy is about 5 years old. He has an adorable trot so he’s better known as Skippy Scotty. He gets along with both cats and dogs in the foster home. Through means of trying to save the leg, it's now been medically recommended that his right leg be amputated since that will be the best course of action for him in the long run. He's looking forward to becoming a healthier and happier future family companion, just with one less paw.##1773669##Adoption processEach adoption starts with an application process. We do a thorough background check, including checking references - both vet and personal. We then follow up with a home check (depending on the location will dictate how we conduct a home check). Contracts and adoption fees are completed prior to any transport of a dog. We will require an adopter to establish a relationship with their vet within 30 days of an adoption and provide written proof of such. Each adoption situation is handled on an individual basis, as are adoption fees. We strive to return any telephone calls within 3 business days.Shelter locationMeet our adoptables by appointment after you have an approved application on file.
