Hi everyone! My name is Russell. I am a Lab mix who is almost 9-years old but my foster mom sometimes says I act like a puppy because I have more energy for my age. I love being outside in the sun with my toys, being brushed, and enjoying all the smells in the air. I have proved to my foster family that I can be alone in the backyard, while they are busy doing human things around the house. I am not a barker either.Although I do love being outside, I would love more than anything to be a house dog! My foster mom thinks I was an outside only dog, and probably got bored of being alone outside which is why I ran off from my original family's home and ended up at the shelter (more than once). I am so well-mannered indoors! My foster mom says I am such a gentleman inside. I am very calm indoors and have never had an accident in the house. I can be left alone for several hours at a time without getting into trouble. My foster mom even has a camera set up to watch me while she is at work. I love sleeping on the couch, or in my bed while I wait for her return. I know the counter tops are off limits and I don't snoop around looking to get into trouble. I am getting accustomed to the family life, and I love it! I would love a home where my family takes me for daily walks or plays ball with me. I am learning to not pull so much on the leash and harness. So far, I have met two dogs with my foster family, and did great! I was eager to meet them and showed no aggressive behavior. Cats are very intriguing to me, but I may not be able to contain myself if I saw one off the leash. I want all the love I can get from any passerby's. I get lots of compliments about my smile when out on walks. I know you humans have busy lives, and I don't need much, just a home with lots of love! I also am told I am amazing in the car; I am even learning to stick my head out the window if I am in the back seat. I would make a good companion for road trips/vacations.
