Adopt Ava a Brown/Chocolate Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) / Mixed dog in Irwin

Sweet Ava has quite a story to tell. This little girl was found walking the streets and taken to Sable Kennel. She was pretty much starving, living with untreated diabetes, mostly blind, and almost lifeless. She had little to no energy and we almost thought she wouldn't make it. Since September, Ava has been living in a foster home in her own space. Her diabetes is pretty much regulated at this point, and she has put on some weight. She is still a little bit thin, but her energy level has gone way up. Ava is very sweet and affectionate with people, but would do best as the only pet. Ava is insulin dependent so she gets shots twice a day. The shots are very easy to give and she is very cooperative. She does not require any special food, or any other medical care. The most important thing is making sure she gets fed and her insulin on a regulated schedule. This little girl has been through a lot, and we are hoping to find her a special home that will give her lots of love and attention. She will need time to learn a new space because she is mostly blind. She will also require someone that is patient with her while she learns where to use the bathroom. Once she is settled and comfortable, Ava is the sweetest, most loving soul you will ever meet.
