#### Glider is a 2 year old Border Collie who weighs 40 pounds. He is a playful boy who loves other playful dogs. He loves to be around his dog friends. They help him in so many ways, including with eating. He can be a picky boy but with another dog present, he eats better so it could be a confidence issue rather than a fussy palate. He follows his dog friends around the yards copying their behavior. If they sniff something, so does he, etc. He absolutely loves being outside. He is interested in toys but not playing with them yet. He must have a more confident similarly sized dog in his forever home. They need a fenced yard with a 6 foot high fence.People are still scary for Glider, but he has started approaching them from behind. This is fantastic and great progress. He will take treats left on the ground for him. He has started working on leash walking but he is nervous and will bite the leash when he is scared. He needs time to settle in with new people. Therefore a quiet adult-only home is required for him. He is a flight risk but we will provide easy tips on how to keep him safely contained in your home and yard. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
