Lucy is a two-year-old, 50-pound mix turned into the shelter because they had a special needs child that took all their attention. Tired of being banished to the yard and her crate for hours and days, Lucy decided to figure out how to escape, which she did, but it got her banished to the shelter. Of all the dogs that should be made to sit in a cage all day, it's not Lucy because she loves people. Shortly after we got her, she went to a home. They loved everything about her, but they worked several nights a week. They are gone 12+ hours, and after four days of them being home non-stop, the long night in a crate was a tough adjustment, and it was clear that their schedule was going to make it very tough to give her the consistency she needed to get settled in. Lucy is back in boarding now and dreaming of her next home. She is good on a leash, clean in the house, and great with other dogs and kids.
