Five minutes with this dog and I was convinced he was a baby angel with fur. He has these eyes that just pull you into his sweet innocence. Maybe he out me under a spell but it I think its more likely that he is an undeniable good boy who is looking for love and willing to offer up his heart in return. Ahh, I haven’t even told you his name! It’s Pike, angelic, friendly, gentle, peaceful, and a perfect petite pittie. Pike is just over a year and half, currently weighs about 39 lbs, and we believe is possibly a pit bull mix of some sort. Of course, in rescue age and breed are offered from educated observation but are never a guarantee.Pike is working on putting a little weight on but he will likely top out around 50 lbs- this is a one couch cushion size dog. Pike is really just the sweetest guy, people centered, confident, affectionate and incredibly responsive/attentive. One of my absolute favorite things is how fully Pike will give you his attention when offered a treat to work on a skill. He has all the makings of a dog that is going to learn anything your teaching him with ease. The attentive nature and obvious smarts Pike has are wonderful traits! On leash,Pike is learning to stay close but has great basic leash manners and like all skills, it will come quick with training. Beyond that he has the gentlest mouth, lives for affection with a face rub or belly scratch being his top two faves. On top of that, he is quiet and responds beautifully to soft correction when needed. Pike is dog-friendly and can be slightly overwhelmed by the invitation to play with another dog but he settles in nicely to a fun loving playmate.The ideal home for Pike could be an apartment thanks to his size and peaceful nature or a house with a yard. Pike could easily live with a canine companion but he is also absolutely up for the job of being your one-and-only! He is absolutely gentle and tolerant enough to be a wonderful family dog. No cats for Pike though, he seemed a touch too interested for us to know he wouldn’t try to chase a cat and we all know how much cats hate that! From what we have seen, Pike is house and crate trained but he will likely need reminders once he is home and learning his new routine. Adopt this growing gentleman today!
