Personality Bucky is a sweet, energetic, adventurous dog. She is very hyper and will jump on everyone when excited. She loves to meet new people and friendly dogs. Bucky is crate trained and will need to be supervised when roaming free around your home. She will chew and rip apart objects she finds due to boredom. She needs plenty of exercise and chew toys to help with this issue. Bucky will scream at times as if she were in pain but it’s just her letting you know she needs to go potty or is bored. Bucky is semi leash trained but does very well on walks. If you need a hiking buddy or are constantly on the move Bucky is the dog for you. Bucky is such a sweet girl who just needs a loving and adventurous home. Bucky's Story Bucky was around 3-4 months old when she arrived at her foster home. In the middle of November of 2022 on a cold winter morning we spotted a puppy wandering the orchards next to our house. She immediately ran to us when she saw us. We made posts on social media about her and she was never claimed. Ever since then she has been our foster dog. Name Origin Bucky’s name has meaning. In December of 2022 her foster home found a dying hawk on their property. The hawk was very weak and wouldn’t move much. We covered it with a flannel shirt to help it preserve warmth. Bucky would continuously lay next to the hawk. She wouldn’t bother it, she would just lay next to it. No matter how many times we called her away from it, she kept running back to the hawk. Once the hawk passed away Bucky stopped visiting the hawk. This story is a representation of how sweet Bucky is. If you are a Marvel fan and have watched The Falcon and the Winter Soldier you will understand the origin. Even though it was a hawk not a falcon, Bucky is the Winter Soldier that stayed out in the snow with her hawk friend until it passed.Thank you so much for considering adopting one of the pets in our care. There will be information listed about the pet on that page as well.If you would like more information, please click on the adopt button and fill out the Animal Inquiry form and that will be forwarded to the foster home so you can speak with them about the pet.After you have spoken with a foster parent with Hands 'N Paws and have chosen a pet(s), you will be directed to fill out an Adoption Contract. Our adoptions are done on a first come first service basis unless a hold is placed on the pet(s). The hold is for up to 7 days and may be done when the Adoption Contract is submitted. You may place a hold by paying the Hold Fee of $25 per pet. The Hold Fee of $25 is Non-Refundable and will be in addition to the Adoption Fee. You may instead pay the full Adoption Fee which will also hold the pet(s). After 7 days, if the pet(s) have not been picked up, any fees paid will be forfeited and will be considered a donation to Hands 'N Paws Animal Assistance. We are a fostered based organization. Each of our animals are kept in individual homes where their foster parents can get to know them to help them find the best possible home. We will also be doing adoption events at Hale's Farm and Feed in Ephrata, WA on the 2nd and 5th Saturday of each month from 10am - 2pm.##1783065##
