Bear is 7 years old and guessed to be shepherd-lab mix (although we think he has some husky in him, too!). He’s large/XL (around 91 lbs) but he’s a little chonky and needs to lose some weight, so we think he could probably end up in the mid-70s to 80 lb range. He’s a super sweet, gentle giant and is looking for his forever home. Click here and here to see him in action!•Bear has been friendly with everyone he’s met so far•He’s a pretty chill guy. He loves walks but otherwise mostly lounges around the house •Housebroken! No accidents in the house and goes pretty quickly once outside•Does great in his crate. Goes in and out on his own to nap or just hang out. Sleeps in there at night•He’s a smart boy! Already knows some commands like sit, stay, down, and paw, and picks things up quickly •Recently started showing some interest in playing! Loves chewing on bones•He’s been good on leash. He only pulls when there’s a fun dog to meet, which we are working on with training! Otherwise he loves sniffing around and exploring•He’s been a good co-exister with other dogs in the house, and he’s been learning the dynamics of having another doggie sibling. He may prefer getting all your attention as the only dog in the home, or possibly with another medium or large dog that matches his energy level•If you scratch him in the right spot, it’ll get his back leg going - very cute!•Bear ended up in rescue through no fault of his own. His long-time owner passed away and their family couldn’t keep him, so he came to Operation Paws for Homes to find him an awesome family who will love him for the rest of his days!Bear is looking for an adopter who is committed to helping him lose weight (and keep it off!) with diet and exercise.
