Hi! My name is Izzy, short for Isabelle! I respond to either one though. I’m a 2 yr old, 30 lb terrier mix who is recently spayed & oh so happy to be an indoor dog after my time on the streets. My foster mom tells me I’m super smart & a quick learner. I walk gently on the leash & I prefer shorter walks right now. I love being inside. That’s where I feel most safe. I’m still building my confidence & trust in life since being rescued. I love to lay in my dog beds & relax w my humans & my foster kitty. I follow the lead of my human. I have yet to meet a person I didn’t love immediately. I can get excited about attention & food but I’ll stay calm if you do! If I get too excited to see you & you tell me to sit & wait, I’ll gather myself together & wait. If you put me in a sit & wait during feeding time, I’ll do just that. I’m still figuring out what the ‘ok’ means. So I’ll keep sitting till you mk it very clear I can eat. I’m eating out of a slow feeder since I’m still getting used to having regular meals & I loooove to eat. I’m pretty much house broke but prefer to be in a home where my human is around all the time. I love to snuggle & quietly snore away. Foster mom lets me sleep on the bed but I only go up there if she invites me. She has funny steps for me to climb onto the bed to make it easier for me.I have also learned how to use real stairs! I go up & down like a champ. Im not too interested in toys yet but I think it’s funny to grab socks off the floor & bring them back to you. I am a rule follower so I really need a calm family who can guide me on the ins & outs of life as a beloved family member. I’ll do everything I can to be the best dog you will ever have if given the chance.
