Adopt Howie a Brown/Chocolate American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed dog in Mesquite

Howie has a sweet face, and you can tell by looking at him that he really is sweet! He is a two-year-old 43 pound golden colored terrier pit that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 8/7 as a stray. He came in with Adam who is a bit older so they're not from the same litter. They may have been from the same household or just traveling companions. They share their kennel and get along well. Howie is not fixed. You can see from the scabbing and scarring on his back, and then a little gashes on his head that he's met with some misfortune. He also could use some kibbles as his ribs are showing. Yet, he has forgiven the person or persons that allowed this to happen to him as he's very sweet and loving. He's a little timid. He's also gentle, friendly, and very affectionate. He's well behaved as he doesn't jump on you and he does sit for treats and takes them gently. He explored the yard with his nose, but then came back to spend time with me. He walks OK on a leash. He was intimidated by other dogs. I would almost guarantee that he's housebroken in that he kept his kennel clean and then when he got to the yard it was obvious he had saved it. I didn't think he was ever going to stop going!!. He's a real sweetheart that deserves a safe, loving home. He has lots of love to give you. He would love to cuddle up with you on the couch or by your feet while you're watching television.
