Meet Thoreau, a friendly and handsome pup! He recently went to a short-term foster home with a volunteer, and not only is he getting a break from the shelter, but we were able to learn so much about him. He's quiet in the apartment and non-reactive on walks. He's also super smart and treat-motivated. It's easy to teach him things and he loves to learn. His list of commands includes sit, down, shake, drop it, watch me, and crate (and it's still growing!) Despite how serious he can look in pictures, he is actually very playful and silly! He likes to lay on pillows like a human, and he loves his toys and will bring them up to you to ask to play with him, which is just too cute. He also loves to play fetch and will drop it for you. And to top it all off, he is potty and crate trained! Thoreau is an energetic and playful dog, but not over the top. He has been chosen as one of the dogs to attend adoption events in the past, which is a testament to his even-keeled, friendly demeanor. He has also proven that he can do well in an apartment, but would also appreciate a yard to play fetch in. Either way, he'd thrive in a home with someone who wants to bring him on adventures and is willing to give him mental and physical enrichment! Come meet him and let him show you how awesome he is!
