Abbott is a friendly, loving, attentive, goofy, playful, energetic yellow lab who is always ready for anything if it includes playtime or time with his humans! He loves to play ball and oh - you have a sprinkler?! A water hose?! A kiddie pool?! Well, yahoo! Because he’s all for that. He loves to play with water. We haven’t had the opportunity to see if likes to swim but he certainly likes to splash through water with a great big, goofy smile. The great thing about Abbott is he’s not only a devoted fella who loves to stay close to his people but likes meeting new people as well and is playful as the day is long. Because of his exuberance and his size, we suggest a home without small children. It’s not because he’s aggressive, it’s only due to his size and excitement level. Abbott is really a gem so if you’re looking for a devoted and goofy big ol’ love, Abbott is your boy. Abbott is currently in foster care and is available for a meet and greet pending application approval. He’s estimated to be around 6 years old, is neutered and microchipped and weighs 75 lbs. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.Shelter locationWe provide adoption opportunities for those living in the Northeast who are willing to do long distance adoptions. Many of our dogs live in Wharton, Texas but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.
