Cinnamon is one of the seven Mississippi Breeder dogs who came to Sunshine after spending years making puppies and living in neglectful conditions. At 7-8 years old and 65 lbs, she is just starting to get her senior "sugar face" and is adorable. This pretty girl is the lightest in color of the MS Breeder dogs. Cinnamon is a little shy, but full of sweetness, and she loves attention more each day as she feels more comfortable. Cinnamon gets along with all the dogs she has met, and she walks nicely on a leash. For a dog who never wore a collar or saw a leash this is an accomplishment! In her pictures you can see the friendly and sweet smile Cinnamon gave our photographer. A home that is somewhat quiet, possibly with another kind dog for company, will be best for Cinnamon. She is blossoming into a lovely dog who will be so happy to be part of someone's life! Cinnamon is now spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. She tested heartworm negative and has been given a Proheart 6 injection for heartworm prevention so she will not need any additional HW preventatives for 6 months. She is a good weight, and her mobility is very good. If you have a quiet home and would like to give Cinnamon the Golden life she should know, don't hesitate to ask about her. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Rescue Goldens come with 'baggage' and very little training so they require people that have an understanding of the nature of dogs and a willingness to work and seek help with one of our Golden Rescues if needed. Our goal is to place rescues in their 'forever' homes and to do so, we need to determine is the best match not only for the dog but for the adopters. The Rescue's Committee determines what type of home the Golden needs and what type of dog would fit best in the applicants' homes. This has proven to make all involved very happy.
