Age: 7 months Size: 25 lbs Estimated breed: Labrador retriever/Dachshund mix Zippy was found as a stray with two other dogs in rural South Carolina. They were taken to the shelter, but no owner ever showed up for them. Her brother left for rescue but poor Zippy was left behind. We know the shelter was no place for her to grow up, so we got her into foster care to wait for her forever home! Zippy is around 7 months old and weighs 25 lbs. She is a short little girl and very petite, so we don't anticipate she will be a super large dog full grown! She has been in foster care with other dogs, cats, and kids and done wonderful with them all. She loves to go for walks or runs and loves to snuggle on the couch. She shares her food, bed, and toys perfectly. She is not an in your face type of girl and will instead gently nudge the back of your leg or sit at your feet to get your attention. She loves to play with dogs of all sizes and is amazing with kids. She has an easy-going temperament and is such a smart cookie! She will make a fantastic family member to anyone with plenty of time and love to give to her. Phone interview with a volunteer to discuss the answers on your online application, share more information about Nirvana Animal Rescue, and answer any questions you have. Virtual home visit with a volunteer to review your home and yard and ensure it is a safe environment for a dog. If your application passes the above steps, the final step is arranging a time for your entire family, including resident dogs, to meet the dog you’d like to adopt! We require that everyone in the family meet the new dog before fully approving the adoption.
