I rescued this then puppy (seven months old) at Thanksgiving of 2022. My mom‘s caregiver was keeping the dog until she could find an owner. I don’t have much detail at all, but now that I have had this dog for 18 months I feel it was mistreated. Perhaps regularly.We have a great relationship with the exception of some issues I will elaborate on. Snuggling at night, going on hikes, trips to the beach, camping, kayaking, over a hundred trips to dog parks in 3 states, swimming, dog parties, and on and on. Here is the reason for this post and a little about what I've focused on. I'm around an infant ("K") a lot these days. K is part of my family. My dog is very protective of me and has anxiety at times. The timing of this anxiety is unpredictable. She occasionally nips people. K's parents and I agree that we are taking too much risk having the dog around the baby. Janie Bird (named after my late mom) needs a good home and perhaps a daily treatment for anxiety.
