"Mercy" is a female, spayed, 18lb Cockapoo-Bichon Frise mix born in September of 2009. She will be turning 4yo this year. Mercy is trained in Agility, Watch Dog activity, and Obedience. Mercy does not do well with horses, overly large yards, or lack of attention/exercise. Mercy can be jealous sometimes and needs a patient owner with a firm attitude. Mercy loves attention, but be sure not to spoil her! Mercy needs to be an indoor dog with someone at her side throughout the day or left to roam in the house or on a tether while she waits for her owner to return. She will bark when left alone in a crate for long periods of time. Mercy MUST go to an active home, preferably to a family with playful children. She must be put over Agility obstacles or jogged/bicycled for two hours every day or every two days at the most to be happiest and avoid excessive barking or escapes. Mercy knows most commands well, but cannot retrieve items though she can pick them up. Mercy is free to a serious Agility competitor, as she is very adept at the sport but I do not have time to take her to competitions or training grounds anymore.Has hot spots and allergies to ticks and corn meal. Her anal glands must be manually emptied frequently, at least once a week, her ear hairs plucked every three weeks, her fur shaved or trimmed every six weeks, and brushed with a slicker brush every day depending on the cut. If you keep her shaved in a short puppy trim, she will not not to be brushed as much. If you allow her hair to grow out, she needs a lot of grooming on the Bichon fur on her underside, head, tail, and legs. Her back has tan Cocker Spaniel-Poodle hairs. You can do a lot with her fur, clipping and blow-drying it into fluffy pompoms and flaring out her paws, even dye her pink with Kool-Aid--- all the pictures here are actually the same dog with different hairstyles (the pink was when she was 1yo).If you aren't an athletic person, often would leave this dog home alone, do not discipline pets well, or don't like grooming, this dog is not for you.
