4 Year Old Female Maltese
Looking to find the ideal home, as we no longer feel we are the best fit for her.
Nani (pronounced "non-E") is a 6.5lb four year old female Maltese. She has been spayed, micro-chipped and is up to date on all of her shots (paperwork provided). We are looking for a forever home with no other dogs or young children. She is not aggressive toward them but is timid and will go out of her way to avoid them, and stays in her kennel.Ideally, she could have someone with her the majority of the day, as we are gone for 10 hours throughout the day for work, so she can become pretty lonely.Nani came into our lives about two years ago as a rescue. She was very skittish, would not let anyone approach her, and would lie in her kennel by herself. She had never even been on a walk. We've worked with Nani a lot on her habits. She is now completely comfortable with us as well as people she sees regularly, and is much less nervous when approached by strangers. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is generally low key and likes to be in a quieter calm environment. She LOVES getting attention, to cuddle, and to follow you around. She is slightly picky about when she wants to play, but when she does, she'll tear around the backyard or the house. She will do anything for a treat and LOVES to chew on her Nylabone, play with her rope, and sometimes even her miniature tennis ball! She has never chewed up any shoes, clothes, paper, or cords. We have never fed her table scraps or people food so she does not beg (except for attention at time!). She doesn't need a lot of space or a large yard as she is content just being around you.Nani has hair not fur, so she is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed which also mean she isn't meant to be an "outside" dog especially during cold weather. We have kept her hair short so she does not need to be groomed often but if you let it grow out she needs to be combed regularly.See Nani doing some tricks on YouTube by searching Nani's Tricks.AVI or go to the URL below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4fk_plvv94We are expecting our first baby in May and also have a very large lab/rot mix. It breaks our hearts to let her go but we do not feel it is fair to Nani to force her to stay in a situation which isn't the best for her.If you are interested in providing Nani a quality "forever" home, and feel that you are able to provide her with love and the right environment that she needs, please let us know via email and tell us about your situation and why you feel your home is a good fit for Nani.Nani comes with all her vet paperwork, kennel, bed, blanket, toys, food bowl, food, collar, and leash. We are not looking for adoption / rehoming fee, because we are looking for a specific type of home for her to go to. If you have children below 10 years of age, please do not reply to this ad as you will not be considered.Thank you,Rich & Cy
