Stilbe is a wonderful, playful, smart, obedient dog! She was born Aug 10, 2011. Purebred, bought from breeder, AKC eligible (we just haven't sent in the paper since we just got her for a family pet). We bought her November 2011 for a family dog. Housetrained. She is GREAT on walks/runs. She's getting very good at fetch, and catching toys out of the air. She loves to learn tricks and really seeks to please. She is a beautiful dog! Very powerful nose!!

She had all her shots, is up to date on rabies, comes with her dewormer meds for the next 6 months. She won't need to see the vet for shots or anything for another 11 mo or so. She has been spayed and has no medical problems at all. Dew claws already removed, although one may need further attention if you want her for hunting or heavier use like that.

She has been a great fit with our 2 1/2 year old daughter. Stilbe never gets upset when our daughter grabs her neck or tackles her (we're still trying to train our daughter to the dog!). She is sweet and patient and a fast learner.

She does has one problem, though, for a family with a small child, and that's why we unfortunately need to sell her. She has a food obsession that has caused her to show aggression with food and treats. She shakes when being fed and has growled and even nipped at our daughter when eating her food or a really tasty treat. We have worked with her for two months on this with fluctuating success.

We know this can be worked through, we just don't have the time to do all that needs done. Dad is a medical student, mom is home raising our two year old and a new baby of 2 months, and is a writer on top of being a homemaker. The food obsession has just turned out to demand more of our time than we can responsibly give. We want her to be happy in a home that has the time to help her overcome this. We are sad to be getting rid of her.

Again, aside from this one problem she is awesome! Very well mannered (still a pup, mind you!), VERY smart, and loves to play, but also is getting better at calming down and just relaxing in the same room as the family.

We are also selling the outdoor kennel that dad made for her. It's wood and chainlink. 8 feet long and 4 feet wide, 7+ feet tall, the floor is raised (for insulation), there is a doghouse built in inside the kennel, and the door has two draw clasps and padlocks. It does not currently have a roof (it's under our porch roof, and she hasn't shown any desire to climb) but all it would take is a sheet of plywood and you could cover the top. The kennel comes apart into four walls and the floor for transportation. The kennel is EXTREMELY sturdy. The materials for the doghouse cost well over $350, plus all the labor put into it. We're selling it for $250, firm on the price. We'd like to see it go with Stilbe, but are willing to sell it seperately.
