Adopt Annie a Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - with White Basenji / Mixed Breed
Amazing and Awesome are 2 nice words to describe Annie. Annie is a young Baladi dog, estimated to have been born in September 2018. Needless to say, she had to be super-smart to escape torture and death on the cruel streets of Cairo Egypt. She and her friend Gamila both got out Egypt alive and have joined BAARK’s Rescue & Adoption Program. Annie is a very agile, athletic and active dog, weighing in at 28 pounds. A Baladi is essentially a mixed breed dog, in Egypt. DNA testing suggests her to be a mixture of Basenji, Caanite Dog, and Anitolian Shepherd. Sometimes Annie acts like a cat, able to jump onto counters and scale high fences. Annie’s forever family must be prepared for such behaviors, work on curbing undesirable behaviors, and ensure that Annie’s safety is of utmost importance, so she does not figure out how to escape for some neighborhood exploring. Annie requires a very patient family who is worthy of her unique talents and extraordinary intelligence. She spends most of her time with other dogs, and enjoys their company. Obedience training is a must. While we are not requiring a fenced back yard, Annie must have plenty of play time and exercise, perhaps at a doggy day care. Annie is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heart worm tested and on year-round heart worm preventative.
