Description:

April is a very sweet, snuggly, 12-year-old lady. Her old owner passed away, and she is heavily bonded with Rock. She’s extremely loving with him and loves to cuddle up on your lap once she’s had a minute to warm up. Her favorite activities include wandering outside in the sunshine, playing with toys, and always keeping an eye on her humans. Environment April is crate trained and house trained—but she might need some extra encouragement in the cold or rain. She will need a fenced yard since her buddy Rock is blind and might accidentally wander off. Like many dachshunds, she is a digger, and will eat dirt sometimes so keep an eye on her. She can be vocal, so needs a home without shared walls. People & Pets April takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once she does, she will pile on the love. As she’s older she does need quiet time to recharge so a relaxed home with people who are around a lot would suit her best. She is a fast eater and loves her food. She can be protective at mealtimes so feeding her separate from any other dogs is a must. She’s unknown on cats and children. Location April is currently being fostered in Laurel, MD.
