My name is Barry and I am a white Great Pyrenees. I am an intact male (I will be neutered before I am adopted) and I am 2 years old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 05/17/2024 due to the fact somebody was allergic to me. They were my family for 3-6 months. I am used to staying inside and outside during the day, and inside during the night. I am potty trained. I am a medium energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I am great about walking nicely on leash. I would do well with simple obedience training to help us bond and for us to learn how to communicate with each other. I dash out open doors or windows if given the opportunity. I would do best in a setting with two doors between exterior doors, such as a screened in porch or hallway, or to be shut in another room or in a kennel before any doors or windows are opened. I can be good with men and women. I do not do well with children less than 13 years old as they make me nervous. I can be good with other dogs, but I have not been tested with cats. I am afraid of thunder, so please plan to give me lots of love and comfort during thunder storms. The shelter staff would be happy to talk with you about how to help me to manage my fears.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
