Hi, my name is Brat! Don't let my name fool you-- I love making friends, and I'm sweet to everyone I meet. I'm going to be one year old in July, and I hope I'll get to celebrate it in a new home with a family who loves me!I love meeting new people and playing with my doggie sister. I'm always exploring and learning, and I have a great sense of smell. My foster mom was so impressed with the way I sniff out tasty bugs hiding in the leaves!I know not to go potty in the house, but I don't know what people want me to do when they say words like "sit" or "stay." I'm trying to learn, so they will be happy with me! I've never been walked on a leash, but I love running around the backyard and digging holes.My first home was scary, because my mom and dad were always yelling at each other. Sometimes we didn't have enough to eat. I don't know what happened, but suddenly they were both gone and now I live outside with my sister. Our old neighbor feeds us, but she's gone most of the time. It feels safer now, but I miss being around people. I want to find a home with kind people, who will love me and let me come on adventures with them!From Brat's foster mom:Brat was a little standoffish when she first met my brother, who is a pretty big guy. She growled at him at first. He immediately sat on the ground and waited patiently for her to approach him, and it only took about 30 seconds for her to become his new best friend.She doesn't seem to be fearful of any specific gender of person, but she is wary of anyone new until they show her that they don't mean her any harm. She'll just sort of stand far away and watch the person until they try to make friends with her, and then she's all over them.Brat loves to cuddle, and to follow you around and watch everything you do. She loves to play chase, and dig around in the leaves for bugs to snack on.Brat has been really starved for affection and would benefit from a lot of consistent affection and a stable routine. She came from an abusive environment and is used to not having enough food or attention.Brat is part of our Ambassador's Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home.
