Adopt Cali a Tan/Yellow/Fawn - with White Siberian Husky / Labrador Retriever /
My name is Cali and I'm 1 of the cutest girls you'll ever meet. I have gorgeous blue eyes and a loving personality. I can't tell you what happened to me the 1st year of my life, but a lot of things still scare me. I'm much better, because my foster mom is gentle with me and understands that it's hard for me to trust people because they haven't always been very great to me.I live with cats and two other dogs right now. I love to play with all my furry sisters, but sometimes the cats don't like me to play, so mom never leaves me alone with them. We all sleep together at night though. My foster mom has trained me to stay in a crate when she is at work. It's OK, especially if she gives me a treat when I go in by myself. For some reason that makes her happy. I used to have to be carried to my crate but I'm not afraid of it anymore. Just don't put in a soft, thick cushion for me because they are fun to tear up when I get bored.I like a lot of playtime outside with my doggy sisters. We like to run and dig little holes in the yard. Mom won't leave me out if she's gone because I just might dig out so I can chase the deer, especially the fawns, they are just my size!My foster mom takes me out a lot to go potty. I like to sniff the yard 1st before I go. I have a big yard so that takes awhile, and mom likes to say "come on Cali, let's go potty, I need to get to work", but she apparently doesn't know all the cool things that have happened in the yard since last time we were out there. Most of the time if I have to go outside I'll come and jump up by mom's chair to let her know. But sometimes I forget, I'm still just a pup and I'm not perfect. My foster mom says I need a very special human who is willing to take the time get to know me and not yell at me or hit me if I make a mistake. I ate 1 of her books and she yelled at me, and I was scared for a whole week after that. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to eat it, it was just there. I can learn though. So, if you think you might want to meet me, please let my foster mom know. She loves me a lot and said I could only go with someone that's really special. I want my human to be very great and gentle, and who will let me sleep by their side at night, because that makes me feel safe. I can't live with a lot of noise or little children though, because I might react out of fear. I would never hurt someone intentionally though. The adoption charge includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter and micro chip. There is an additional $10.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime certification of the micro chip. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our veterinarian once they are four months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
