Charlie was picked up near the beginning of January and was taken to the San Martin Shelter. He was a stray who was pretty matted and dirty so the shelter shaved him down. Charlie waited for someone to come and find him but no one came. He was adopted but was returned the next day. Another couple came and took Charlie to foster. They discovered something very important about Charlie. Charlie is deaf!!! Charlie didn't know any deaf dog signs to be able to communicate with humans and he had no way of telling humans that! The couple who fostered him felt that they were not experienced with teaching him so they called CIW. We have worked with another deaf little poodle and felt we could help Charlie. He has already learned some command signs and is learning others. He is a very smart little boy who just wants to please and to be loved. He is a healthy little who is current on his vaccinations, is neutered, and is microchipped with lots of puppy energy. Charlie needs a family who want to spend lots of time with this little guy and give him time to learn how to communicate. Is that your family?. Please note: Charlie (two) is a Special Needs dog.
