Cookie Dough is a beautiful Border Collie mix who was living on a ranch and was kicked by a cow. The rancher was not taking her to the vet for any treatment or pain relief, but he willingly surrendered her so she could get the care she needs. Her broken femur has been surgically repaired during her time with us and in just another week she will be free to get back to running and playing! Cookie Dough has been living in a loving foster home. She is high energy, wicked smart, and loves to be outside. Once she's healed, she would love to hike and adventure with her people. Cookie Dough, also known as "Smart Cookie, is food motivated and a quick learner. She learned her basic commands like sit, stay and leave it in minutes. She is affectionate, gentle and sweet, with a generous dose of puppy-like playfulness. Her ears are super expressive. She loves other dogs and would love a dog playmate at home. That being said, she does need continued training on leash reactivity towards neighborhood dogs that bark at her. This girl would do best in a dog savvy home with an large outdoor space she can roam. She would love to be running around and needs daily mental simulation. Cookie Dough is a lovely dog-she will bring SO much fun to her future people!
