Ginger is a happy, easy going girl who deserves a loving home. She came to Milo a couple of years ago and was adopted by her fosters. Unfortunately one of her owners just passed away and she now needs a new home. Ginger appreciates one on one time with her people and would prefer to be the only dog at home. She needs a bit of socialization training with other dogs but warms up quickly to people. She walks well on leash and looks forward to her walks. And after her walks she wants to just lean into you and show you her love. Come meet this sweetheart at Milo. Notes from a volunteer who took her out recently: Ginger's profile stated that she quickly warms up to people, but could use a bit of socialization training with other dogs. I decided to take her out on a walk to downtown Pt. Richmond with my dogs to see how she interacted with them. As soon as we started walking, she walked along with them like she was part of the pact. She was perfectly fine with them. She walked well on a leash and kept up with our brisk pace. I would not guess that she was 9. She seemed slightly younger. She also loved to sit for treats. I noticed that she reacted and barked at some dogs who walked past her kennel while inside Milo. That could be because of the noise, the hustle and bustle activity, and the stress that arose from that. She was very calm and relaxed as soon as we left the building. Her profile states that she would prefer to be the only dog at home. Based on how well she got along with my dogs, I would say that she may like to have a friend at home. The best option though is to slowly introduce another dog if you have one and may be interested in fostering/adopting her. She did not react negatively to any of the dogs we passed along our walk. Please consider fostering or adopting Ginger. She is very sweet, would love to take walks with you, hang out on the couch, and explore new places. She was looking around curiously at the different sights in the downtown area and looked happy and content.
