Godiva recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say! "Meet Godiva. 6 year old, spayed, magnificent, perfect lady mastiff. Once I got her to jump in the backseat she was perfect. Just sat or laid down and enjoyed the ride. Godiva loves treats and takes them so gently. She knows sit. She is perfect in the house. House trained and nondestructive. She did not go up the steps. She may be scared of steps. She also is happy laying on the floor and not the couch or a doggy bed. She is not interested in toys too much or maybe I didn't have her favorites but she wouldn't play with them at all. She just kicked the ball away from her. Lol I gave her a bath outside and didn't even have to hold her. She stood there so nice and calm and let me scrubba scrubba. Godiva is perfect on a leash. She pulls some when she wants to sniff but then gets right back on track. Godiva is very affectionate. She loves pets and will nudge your hand to help encourage you to pet her more. She gives gentle kisses and loves to be with you. She was affectionate with me and my boyfriend. I have not heard her bark at all. She is low energy and just enjoys relaxing and being with her people. Godiva is a big girl but VERY gentle. She'd be a perfect pet for anyone who has a roomy house and yard for her to relax in." Godiva is listed as No Small Children because she leisurely, older girl who enjoys her peace in life. However, she does just fine meeting children out in public! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
