Meet Hawk! This two-year-old aussie/kelpie mix is ready to say so long to the kennel and begin his new life! He's a 53-pound beautiful boy who is looking for a family who he can make happy memories with for years to come. Hawk just had a weekend away from the kennel and did absolutely fabulous!!! He impressed in all aspects and will make the best addition for one lucky family!! Read below to learn just how amazing he is! When he first arrived at GLDR, Hawk was a bit hesitant, but with some time and patience, he now adores affectionate, leaning in for hugs every chance he gets! He wants so much to be close to the people around him and we know the bond he forms with his family will be a strong one. When he lends you his paw in friendship, it's truly endearing and just makes you love him even more! In addition to being house-trained and crate-trained, Hawk is a smart fella!! He knows many commands including "sit, down, touch, leave it, and drop it! He's very food-motivated and takes his treats gently. He will thrive with continued training, daily exercise, and lots of love! Hawk would be overjoyed to have a yard where he can play fetch in till his heart is content! Hawk is also a rockstar on a leash and would love to accompany you on all of your adventures! He rides well in the car and is ready to see where the road takes him. At the end of a fun-filled day, Hawk sleeps quietly through the night. He really is the whole package! Based on our evaluation, we feel Hawk will do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 8 and up. He may have the ability to live in a home with other animals as he does very well with the other dogs at the kennel. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby.
