Adopt Honey a White Labradoodle / Wheaten Terrier dog in North Reading

Location:
North Reading, MA
Description:

*Name: Honey - non-shedding mix *Age: 4 years old *Current Weight: 41lbs*Rescued from: Thailand*Adoption fee: $550 (includes $50 refundable positive training commitment deposit)*Health: Up to date on vaccines Being a stray dog with no one to feed or care for her, Honey had taken shelter at a local beach on the island. But when you have to fend for yourself, there is little protection and poor Honey was found with an open wound on her right hind leg. We don’t know how it happened, but it must have been severe as she had lost all of the digits on that paw. The suffering she was going through must have been unbearable, and yet there was still no one to help her. That was until she was collected by one of Soi Dog’s rescue teams when a kind person alerted us to her plight. After being alone for so long, Honey could finally experience what was like to be well-cared for. Given the extent of her injury, she needed extensive care that included surgery to remove the rest of the leg, which helped to prevent a life-threatening infection. Honey made a full recovery and is a sweet, friendly girl. She might have lost her leg, but it doesn’t slow her down. If anything, she’s still much faster than those who are walking her!Her local foster says: She is fluffy and perfectly charming. She is eager to please, happy to be around her people, quiet in the house (we’ve not heard her bark in the two weeks we’ve fostered her). With us, she has not cried at night and is quiet until we come downstairs. She does well with a 45-minute walk twice a day and is housetrained. She knows to “come,” “you may eat,” “sit,” “watch” (my eyes). “Stay” is hard, but she tries. We have kept her off our bed and sofas. She is modestly interested in training treats although high-value treats like chicken or cheese keep her attention. On the street, she is very friendly with people and interested in dogs. She’ll be curious if she meets up with one, but doesn’t lunge or go out of her way to meet it. Honey is being fostered North of Boston, and is available for Meet and Greets, and our Foster to Adopt Program. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt . Please note that RnR is a volunteer-based organization. While volunteers review applications as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the following information about our adoption process: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents. We rarely know a dog's exact age or full breed mix of dogs, as our information is usually limited. RNR’s ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting one of our adoptable pups is to fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt . Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will contact you, review our adoption process, and answer any additional questions you may have. It is important to note that we do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions but on the best fit for a family and, most importantly, the dog. MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until your adoption application is submitted and reviewed. APPLYING ONLINE: When completing an application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device); make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible and that you receive a confirmation email.##2010990##
