Hooch gets along well with his three foster (dog) siblings and loves his two foster (human) siblings almost as much. He is a big, strong boy who can be a bull in a china shop, so a home with older kids and dogs that are roughly his size would be best for everyone. He is a bloodhound mix and can easily jump a four-foot fence to follow his nose, so any yard he will spend time in must have a six-foot fence. He is crate-trained, but does have a big, hound dog bark that may not be endearing to apartment dwellers. Hooch LOVES long walks, and would happily do more than one per day! His favorite activities are: bounding through the natural area on his Flexi lead, wrestling with his pit bull foster brother, chewing on bones, sunbathing in perennial beds, and sleeping on the couch/back step. He is currently working on his leash manners, as well as beginner-level canine fitness, and he is doing so well: he loves to learn and he is so fun to work with. While he can be a little aloof, he loves being with people and the other dogs in his home. He is so lovable and charming that even his naughtier side with endear him to just about anyone. Hooch is a 4-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $250 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX test, and neuter. This dog is also tested with other dogs, kennel trained, and housebroken. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if it might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
