Adopt Huck a Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut Basset Hound / Mixed dog in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, TX
Meet Huck!Huck is a 2 year old Basset Hound mix. Huck is a low energy, sweet dog that loves to hang out with his favorite people. Huck has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and takes medication twice daily. He is recovering from surgery for an ACL tear that was likely caused by overuse due to sensitivity in his hips. He is doing well after surgery and runs and plays with his fur siblings in his foster home.Due to the the pain Huck may be in from his medical needs it would be best that Huck is in a home with no kids or older kids. Huck likes his crate and will use it as his comfort zone, so a crate is a must in his new home. He plays well by himself and is not destructive when left alone outside of his crate.Huck sits by the garage door with his favorite toy while his foster mom packs her lunch for work, hoping to catch a ride, so he would love a family willing to take him on lots of car rides. Huck will be fine as an only pet so he can get all of the attention, but he is also ok with dog siblings as he's been living with dogs of all shapes and sizes for the past few months and has only had issues with puppies that wanted to get in his personal space. Huck would do best with no cats. He will need a secure fence to tame his adventurous spirit and would do best with frequent trips to the yard. Huck is a sweet pup who will do well with a family willing to take the time to understand his insecurities and make him feel safe.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/contact.
