Meet Jack! Jack was surrendered to us due to the family not being able to contain him. He loves going on walks, even if that means going by himself. Jack needs a family that can give him the exercise and enrichment he needs. Jack loves to learn! He would benefit from learning tricks and showing off how smart he is. He loves mental stimulation and would also make the best running partner. Jack enjoys playing with other dogs. We recommend Jack to be housed with no children.Jack has an independent personality and prefers patience and guidance to help him make his own decisions. We like to be transparent about our dogs' pasts. Unfortunately, while being brushed by our volunteers, Jack turned and bit one of the volunteers. We know that Jack can get overstimulated, and he likely felt overwhelmed by all of these kind people touching him.Most recently, Jack was out on a walk with a volunteer who threw treats on the ground. Jack didn't locate them all, and the volunteer put his hand down near the missing treat and Jack bit him.We want to make sure that his future adopters are aware of these incidents and have the resources to help Jack going forward. He is very sweet and playful with the staff and volunteers who know him well. We are concerned about his stress level here at the shelter and want to place him in a husky-savvy home. We do not adopt out Huskies to cat or chicken homes due to the likelihood of them having a high prey drive. Jack is current on all his age appropriate vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped.
