Urgent, Local Foster Home Needed. You must live in the Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord area of NC to be taking her to our rescue vet in Kannapolis as needed. Meet Jackie, a 7-year-old chocolate and tan Cocker Spaniel girl. She is a retired breeder dog that has not had much attention or love. She came in with another retired breeder dog and we quickly found out that the owners lied to us when they had their vet evaluations. Both girls had major mammary masses requiring extensive radical mastectomies. Jackie also had mastitis too. She is now spayed; tumor was removed. Biopsy on tumor came back as carcinoma, low grade cancer so we will have to find out how vet wants to handle this issue and removal if possible. The ideal home for this sweet girl must be willing to house train, teach her to walk on a leash and have a secure fenced yard. She craves attention and love and is a busy girl who likes to explore. Watching her outside, she knows how to open an unlocked gate, so you must always have a closed padlock on it to keep her safe from getting out. She does not do well with male dogs and doesn't care to be around other female dogs either. We have no past history with big dogs, cats or children. If you can help us by fostering this girl until she can be adopted out, it would be greatly appreciated. When ready for a home, her adoption fee will be $400.00.
