Jamaica is eligible for our foster to adopt program! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺Meet Jamaica (pronounced “huh-mike-a”)! Jamaica means hibiscus in Spanish. Jamaica is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever mix, 40-50 lbs. She has been spayed and received all her vaccinations. We think she was hit by a car before she was rescued, but she seems not to have any lasting damage. She’s been in her foster home since 5/16/24. She is potty trained, and is working on crate training. She knows how to sit, and is learning to wait, come, leave it, and hop up! Jamaica is very shy at first, and will flourish in a calm environment. Once she warms up she will be your best friend! She will thrive in a home with only adults or with chill teenagers. Best of all would be a home with a confident, playful dog to show her the ropes and help her build confidence. She does great with cats in her foster home. Jamaica loves to play with a ball, splash in water, and get the zoomies around the yard. She also loves to just be quiet with you. Jamaica may do best with rescue-experienced adopters who work from home or are around a lot. Thus far, she is not a fan of being crated and may have some moderate separation distress or anxiety. Her ideal home is rural or suburban and she definitely will require being placed in a home with another playful dig to be at her happiest. Her adoption fee includes a training session with a SSDR certified force-free trainer, leash, collar, and harness.
