Adopt Lucy 2 a Black - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn German Shepherd Dog / Mixed dog
Lucy is eight years old (2/22/11) and is the cutest and most loyal dog you’ve ever met. She is extremely laid back and calm on a regular basis, but can get in a playful mood when she’s taken out in the yard and will run and hop around—yes, hop, just like a rabbit. Then she tries to cover up her business like a cat would with grass. She has just now learned what toys are and will sometimes play with 1 when other dogs are playing with theirs. She thinks walks are the best thing in the world and gets ecstatic when you get her leash out; same with car rides. She is good with kids and other dogs of all sizes and genders. Lucy does have storm anxiety issues. She has medication and a suit that both help to calm her down, but even with them she is not 100% okay if she is left alone during storms. She needs a person with her in those specific times. She finds certain rooms and corners she feels safest in to lay, and wants all doors open so she can get to them as needed. She CANNOT be kenneled. She does not like to be confined, especially while scared, and she will escape. She needs a patient person, or family, who can be home with her when there is bad weather. Someone who works from home would be perfect, as she would love the constant attention. ****Note that Lucy is perfectly behaved and anxiety free when the weather is nice and can be left alone with no issues.***** She is up to date on all her shots and even the kennel cough vaccine. She is spayed. Potty trained. Nice with all people, kids, dogs, and keeps to herself around cats. She has had mammary gland tumors removed before, and there is 1 present now but it does not bother her. She is the most precious girl and wants all your pets and cuddles— she just needs a lot of extra attention on some days and needs someone who can provide that.
