Meet Star, Luna, and Nova! These cuties are 8 week old Corgi mixes who were saved from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster county due be suspected to be special needs (blind and/or deaf) as well as having bladder stones and severe UTIs. Sadly, this happens all the time due to the irresponsible breeding practices being used in puppy mills, both due to lack of education and caring about the dogs who will be born with lifelong disabilities. That "unique coloration sadly comes with a cost to their health, but we will find them wonderful forever homes equipped to handle their special needs and sassy corgi attitudes These sweethearts are understandably shy and nervous at first, but are doing a great job learning to trust new people! As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Puppy mill dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. These are very intelligent and high energy working breed dogs and will require a very active family up to the task of providing them the ample physical and mental exercise they require. Herding breed experience is strongly preferred.
