Petunia has to be one of the happiest dogs we've ever seen! And based on what she has been through in her short little life, it's a miracle. When she came to us, she was skin and bones, at least 15 lbs underweight, had all kinds of intestinal worms and nasal worms (ew!) and, sadly, is also heartworm positive. It took her over a month to gain weight and stabilize enough so that we could spay her.She loves running around in the yard and then is ready to snuggle up after getting her energy out. She’s wonderful with other dogs and is learning that tiny humans, while loud and unpredictable, often drop food which is pretty awesome. She is house trained and quiet in a crate, so snatch this girl up fast!**This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment.If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application. We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.
