Hi, my name is Piper and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since May 26, 2024. Everyone calls me a “Goofball,” I’m not sure what that means but I know it has the word “ball” in it! Bringing a smile to my person’s face is what I do best and I’m ready to make every day as fun as I can. I think I’m the happy, funny pup for you!05/26/24 16:40 Rehoming form sent in to Pet Support included the following: `I adopted Piper from the shelter last week but we would like to return her because she is showing signs of aggression towards children and other dogs. I understand the 333 rule however it`s frightening how fast it`s developing. Here is a run down of everything that has happened thus far that has made us rethink our decision. Thursday night she got into the trash while we were gone for about 30ish minutes. She ate multiple tampons so we immediately took her to the emergency room for induced vommitting. She threw them all up. Prior to actually being admitted she behaved very well with all of the dogs in the clinic including the cats in carriers. She did fine the rest of the time there. The following day I did a follow up with a vet to get X-rays to ensure they were all out and food was indeed passing through. She was deemed fine and got a prescription for her paw that I called the shelter about. I didn`t notice it when we first got her but I noticed it the day after. It looks like a hotspot from chewing. The vet also said she had a slightly enlarged gallbladder. When we were in the waiting area to get the bill she spontaneously started lunging towards another dog barking and freaking out. I moved her away from the situation and we eventually had to leave out the side door because she would not calm back down. Fast forward a little bit later. My neighbors dogs were out and she tried dragging me off the porch to get to them. She had teeth barred and all her hair was standing up. She was freaking out so badly multiple people heard her. There`s another two dogs across the street she is also entirely volatile with. We got her inside calmed her down. Later We finally deemed it time to introduce her to someone at our home as I had plans and they were coming to get me. I brought someone with a very similar build and energy as me. They met outside and were great, very slow introduction with boundaries established. But when we moved it inside Piper destroyed 2 different toys right in front of the friend and nipped towards her when playing
