Adopt Pippin a Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - with White Husky / Mixed dog in
Pippin is a lovable, friendly 2 year old husky mix with the cutest curly tail. He loves being around people and kids and will follow you around the house to make sure he knows where you are. He is good with other dogs and loves playing and wrestling with them. Pippin loves his creature comforts, whether it is curling up on a chair, or the bed, dog bed, and has been known to use a foot as a pillow. He is housebroken and crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He enjoys hikes, and will gladly go into a creek to cool off. He gets excited when his people come home and likes jumping to show his excitement. Pippin loves to be outside in the backyard by himself, or with his foster siblings and is content to sun himself or curl up on patio furniture and watch his surroundings. Like all huskies, Pippin has a lot of energy and needs ways to run it off. That can include dog friends that will play with him, lots of walks or hikes, and people wrestling with him too. Pippin also tested positive for Lyme, which is a non-contagious tick-borne disease. He will need a yearly Lyme vaccine to help keep the disease dormant but should a flare-up occur it will be indicative by joint pain/inflammation and lethargy. However, typically a dose of antibiotics is enough to cause the disease to go dormant again. Should multiple flare-ups occur in a short period of time, it could potentially affect his kidneys. Lyme has become more prevalent in the rural shelters HART pulls from, but we have adopted many dogs with this disease and they are living happy lives! If you would like to meet Pippin, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.
