Adopt Sadie (Sadie Clause) a Black - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn Shepherd (Unknown
I adopted Sadie from Shelby County Humane Society. She was so thin when she came to us that her hips and ribs were showing. Now, she weighs about 40 pounds. Sadie was listed as a stray and, according to her intake doc.s, had lost 15 pounds. while in the shelter. It seemed to be a traumatic experience for her and she suffers from anxiety (or, PTSD?), especially when other dogs are barking. The vet (and behavioral specialist) explained to us that Sadie has been trying to protect us from a perceived threat. She has never been at all aggressive with me or my husband, or the kitties, but is still sometimes upset by the rambunctious behavior of her sisters and, becomes frightened and lashes out at them. They are confused by this and a fight ensues. She has been hurt several times and has many scars. I promised her when I rescued her from the pound that she would never have to go back there, but I’m afraid for her safety, now. Sadie is smart, affectionate and loyal. She is a great girl!
