Adopt Scarlet a Tan/Yellow/Fawn - with White Australian Shepherd / Mixed dog in
Scarlet was my parents' dog. My mom passed away over this past holiday, and my dad recently moved to a nursing home and can't take care of her. She's had a very rough couple of months. They rescued her in 2010, so I'm guessing she's around 10. She has an old face but a young, healthy set of teeth so it's hard to know.I took her only to avoid keeping her in the kennel. She was overweight when I got her but has slimmed down since. She's good with my children, cats, and other dog. She's smart, gentle and friendly, but not very active. Honestly I think she likes watching television. She's more companion dog than jogging partner, if you know what I mean. Now the bad news: Since I've had her she's had a urinary incontinence issue--she sometimes "piddles" when she gets excited. I put her on medicine which seems to do the trick, but I'm hoping that once she settles into a new living situation it will take care of itself. To be clear, she is reliably housetrained.
