Meet Smokey! He's just under 2 years old, and needs a home without cats or small animals. He loves to play and LOVES to swim. He is 100% water dog. He would stay in a pool or lake for hours if allowed. He knows the sit command. He has a habit of jumping on people in happy greeting, so will need some gentle positive training to learn that there are better ways to greet new people. He did completed an obedience course and has also has gone to doggie daycare 3 days a week in his previous home. He plays well with dogs his size, is very social. But DOES NOT play gently enough for small dogs and doesn't like cats at all. He doesn’t have food aggression with smaller dogs, but he will growl if they get too close to a toy that he has claimed as his own. He is crate trained during the day, prefers to sleep in his bed with his human(s) at night. He loves to run, so a big, securely fenced yard is needed. He loves to go on walks, (and would probably LOVE hiking/camping) but if he gets loose he is a runner, so until he reliably masters distance recall, a leash and firm grip is absolutely necessary outside of a fenced area.
